[Virtual Summit 2020] Financial Sustainability in an Uncertain Future

Featuring Kathy Ploch. Hosted in partnership with Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (TALA).

This is an archived video from the Fresh Arts Virtual Summit, Session 2: Self-care for Your Creative Business: Financial Sustainability in an Uncertain Future which was live streamed on August 8, 2020.

Artists and creatives earn income through various means, some relying on aid, grants, unemployment, contract work, etc. Banks and other financial institutions often require records of income in the form of W2’s, 1099’s, etc. An issue can arise where an artist’s financial portfolio may not convey accurately what financial institutions look for. This session will cover ways to document diverse finance streams to create a larger, more accurate picture of an artist’s income; this info can then be used for applications, loans, mortgages, and/or other future financial ventures.
