Galleries, publications, grant applications, etc. all ask for artist statements and/or bios and having them at the ready will simplify so many things.
Identified and explained are the major considerations when creating an artist’s artist statement and bio, their differences, and offer insight and feedback on what makes a strong statement/bio.

Houston writer and professor Icess Fernandez Rojas for the past 12 years has worked as a journalist in newspapers in Texas, Kansas, and Louisiana. She’s published in USA Today, the Guardian, and Huffington Post. She’s taught everything from basic English composition classes to creative writing to how to write articles and commentary.
