Art Is In The Making

This mural is a reflection of some of Houston’s early history and the communities that make-up this city.  It is a reminder that art is always in the making even as our city continues to grow. This mural’s symbolic elements meticulously flow from left to right.  The base of the design is anchored by the outline of some of the first railroads in Houston.  The mural also highlights Buffalo Bayou’s wildlife and nature ranging from flowers such as Texas lantanas, magnolia flowers to blue herons and monarch butterflies.  The use of pattern and tile represent the cultural diversity of this neighborhood now and over time.
